It's a Casual Life....
IT’S A CASUAL LIFE tells the story of Jimmy Collins and his life as a football Casual.
Using both a brutally honest and frank monologue, together with a series of dramatic and violent flashbacks, the film explores Jimmy’s past, his passion and above all, his motivations.
Central to the story is Jimmy’s love affair with the culture of football. In particular, his pride in the friendships and rivalries developed amongst his peers. Yet equally, we discover his resentment at the evolution of The Casual scene and the demise of everything it once stood for.
Changes that ultimately come to have long-lasting consequences for him
Starring Richard Driscoll (Eastenders, Goodbye Charlie Bright) this was my first foray into screenwriting and includes what is often cited as being probably the best representation of a football 'off' ever committed to screen.
